Marie can count, but she doesn’t have good one-to-one correspondence skills, so the transition team will need to figure out how to help her learn how many salads she needs to make each day, since the total will differ depending upon how many were left from the previous day. She may also need pictorial instructions for her new tasks since she doesn’t read well enough to understand written instructions. The McDonald’s owner/manager thinks Marie has great potential as an employee. She is very interested in working with the job coach and Bob to determine the adaptations and accommodations Marie will need to be independent and successful in this new position.
