The specification allows candidates to develop an
understanding of issues relating to society and health,
resource management, nutrition and food production.
This course is excellent preparation for any student
wishing to pursue a career in nutrition, food science,
sports science, food technology, consumer protection
and health. Students are taught in a new Nutrition
classroom with a food preparation/demonstration area
and practical work is undertaken in a purpose built
kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen area is a new
computer suite. We subscribe to the web based
‘Nutrition Program’ which allows students to analyse
the nutritional value of recipes at school and at home
