This is just a little something I’d want to discuss about. If you go to 2ch and read some of their posts there, there are times where they refer to Kaneki or Arima (or both) as ‘kings’. Here’s a small explanation about it.
Right now, a good number of the people who post on 2ch are pretty much set that Arima’s the OEK. But not only that, Kaneki can also be a king as well. Actually, it’s either both are candidates for the OEK position or Arima’s already the OEK. Mind that some are still not on board with this theory mostly because a lot want Arima to remain human (myself included tho I get mixed feelings).
Now, the question is why and how did they arrive to this conclusion? I read back on it and the secret lies behind their birthdays (at least for this theory). I’ve talked about their birthdays from a different POV in this post before but I didn’t exactly know where I was going to with that.
To summarize that post, 十二 refers to Kaneki while 二十 refers to Arima. They somehow resemble ‘eyes’ where one is open, the other closed; another is with the tarot itself. IF Arima is also a OEG, his kakugan should be on the right side, the opposite of Kaneki’s.
Anyhow, going back to the main point of this post, it basically goes like this. If you combine the characters for 12 and 20 like so:
Your end result is 王.
王 means King.
