Legal and Compliance Officer

 

The purpose of this position is to support the Company in the identification and management of legal and compliance risks to the organization and to provide timely, correct and contextually relevant legal advice to the Company and its officials on all contractual and corporate matters and law that impacts, or may impact, on the Company. 



 - Provide legal advice and opinion on all issues arising out of company’s operations and dealings, including proper interpretation of applicable new and existing domestic and international legislations and regulations there under.

 - Represent the Company, or to co-ordinate with company’s legal counsels, as applicable, in all legal cases, in a manner that serves the best interests of the Company.

 - To assist in formulation of evidence for submission to inquiries, authorities, arbitrators and other formal tribunals, when required


 - Develop and implement the company’s Compliance policies, procedures and standards.

 - Perform periodic reviews and checks of the compliance of the Company on various statutory, regulatory, and client requirements.

 - Recommend to the Management necessary actions to address identified compliance risk and issues.

 - Establish and implement proper mechanism for monitoring and reporting of compliance risks and issues.

 

 - Prepares and/or reviews all contracts and agreements being entered to by the Company and ensures that the Company is adequately protected from foreseeable risks.

 - Reviews the legal aspect/risks of relevant company policies and procedures and recommend necessary remedies.

 

 - Coordinates with external parties like legal service providers, government bodies, clients, suppliers, etc. on various compliance and legal matters.

 - Coordinates with various Heads of Business Units and Departments on various compliance and legal matters.


 - Take part in and facilitate training and education of staff, on relevant legal responsibilities and evidential issues

 

 - Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a reputable university or colleges.

 - Preferably holder of current practicing certificate/ license.

 - 5 to 10 years work experience in Contracting Companies preferably in the Middle East.


 - Knowledge of legal concepts, principles, practices, and parlance relevant to the Company’s business operations.

 - Knowledge of Compliance and Corporate Governance relevant to Saudi Arabia

 - Knowledge of applicable laws and jurisprudence in Saudi Arabia

 - Ability to conduct legal risk assessment using appropriate assessment methods

 - Ability to speak and write fluently in both English and Arabic languages.

 - Strong analytical skills and sound practical judgment.

 - Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
