Thus, study advocated that students from highly anxious group performed more poorly than those from low anxiety group (Wilson, 2006:20). In context of negative correlation between anxiety and achievement, Awan et al., (2010) found that language anxiety and achievement are negatively related to each other. Furthermore, his research suggested that female students are less anxious than male students. It also reported that the biggest cause of anxiety was speaking in front of others, because of fear of grammatical mistakes, pronunciation and inability to talk spontaneously.
