It happened only a year after he married Harka Bai, Princess of Amer.If you see the list provided by mypremview, the beautiful former wife of Abdul Wasi was Akbar's seventh wife whom he married in 1563. Also, I read that Akbar made sure that the Ulemas and the Maulavis gave equal status to all his wives, including those who were married through Muttah marriage.Because of Akbar's order, some clerics started to research and they did find a loophole( ie. writings supporting muttah marriage) in some book and the Emperor ordered that Ulemas should give equal status to all his wives based on these findings. Ulemas had no other option but to oblige.WinkI don't remember the details. It is written in detail in H.C. Burke's book.
