Always take meter readings on a ‘running difference’ basis, not from zero.
• Ensure sufficient volume is passed through the meters.
• Ensure readings are taken as accurately as possible.
(viii) The same fuel should not be re-circulated through the MUT during the course of a
proving run. This may cause significant temperature changes, which would
adversely affect the usefulness of any measurements taken on subsequent runs.
(ix) After completion of meter proving, ensure the meter calibrating screw and the
meter head have the security seal/lock wire replaced.
