Saleh Gomaa is unlikely to be joining Greuther Furth this summer after refusing to sign with the German Bundesliga 2 side.
Gomaa announced he will join Furth on loan from ENPPI this week, but had a sudden change of heart despite completing a medical at the German club.
“He hasn’t signed despite completing medical tests with us,” Furth sporting director Rouven Schröder was quoted as saying by German media.
“It is not a good sign and I think it is clear he wants to wait for the World Cup in Turkey and then see other clubs.
“We have to be realistic and admit that is very difficult for us to sign him.”
Gomaa, 19, has been linked with Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund and Anderlecht as his exit from ENPPI seems inevitable this summer.
The midfielder is expecting his price to boom after the World Cup in Turkey, which may be the reason behind his decision to delay the move.
