Mikkelsen - wfp campaign.
Working with celebrities is a nightmare - and as we all know: The more famous they are, the more tensed up, right? To win a celebrity for our campaign, whose film was just nominated for an oscar, must be the nightmare of nightmares? Read more.
When we asked Mads Mikkelsen at the European Film Awards on Malta, if he would fancy to film a spot for WFP, he answered with one sentence: “I’m in!”
We asked ourselves: How many of those promises have beset stars to make on every beneficial gala? A few days later we called the Management of Mads- and immediately got an affirmative answer.
But when would he be available? Someone who’s currently filming in the US, Southafrica, worldwide? To get the ball rolling we sent a text suggestion to his manager. The prompt answer this time: “We already recorded the video. Where shall we send it to?”
Some days later we received a tape from New York. We couldn’t believe it: Mads Mikkelsen had recorded the same phrases a dozen times, just in case we wouldn’t like any of the takes. After that he repeated the whole thing several times in German.
We won’t bore you with further details about how much time his management needed to give their blessing to the spot. Just this much: Approximately as long as it takes to watch it.
What he’s saying in the spot:
Every eighth human goes to bed hungry.
The world food programme fights the hunger - worldwide.
With you we win the fight. Take part.
And I’m just sitting here like German
