Dear Parents,
You may wish to use a local Education Consultant to help you in obtaining a student visa
for your child. ACG can provide a list of its appointed education consultants in your
country.
You can also obtain a visa without using an agent by corresponding direct with the ACG
admissions staff.
1. Apply for an ACG programme on the official application form enclosed in this
pack. Be sure you complete all sections of the form and that you sign the
“contract” sections. Enclose with your application the student’s latest school
reports, public examination results or forecast marks, etc., a letter explaining why
the student wishes to study in New Zealand and the University Degree the student
is aiming for.
2. You will then be sent a document called an “Offer of a Place”. Take this to your
nearest New Zealand Embassy/High Commission and get an application for a
student visa. The Visa Officer will explain what other documents you need.
3. When you have supplied all the correct documents the student will be “approved”
for a visa. You must then send the school fees to us. We suggest that you use
registered post or a courier.
(A Telegraphic Transfer often gets delayed in the banking system, and at times
are difficult to trace.)
4. When we receive the money we will fax a copy of the receipt and an updated
“Offer of Place” form to the Visa Office in your country. We will also mail the
original to you.
5. The Visa Office will issue the student with a Student Visa. As the student passes
through Immigration on arrival in New Zealand this will be converted to a
Student Permit which will last one year from the date of the student’s arrival.
