f princess/wives who were considered the top most beautiful women in 16th and 17th century. But does anyone see Roopmati.
Yes, Roopmati was none other than wife of Baz Bahadur. He loved his wife more than anything else in this world. It was Adham Khan( Son of Mahamanga) who was send to Mandu to capture Malwa. Baz Bahadur challenged him and got himself killed by Adham Kham. He also tried to escort Roopmati but it seems she committed suicide before Adham Khan reached her chamber. It seems that Akbar wanted to capture Malwa and also wanted to marry Roopmati but Adham Khan spoil the whole fun. This incident happened in 1561. Baz Bahadur wanted Uday Singh of Mewar’s help to save him from Mughals. So Akbar was lustful about Roopmati.
Akbar wanted to marry Rao Maldev’s daughter called as Rukmawati bai of Marwar Dynasty when Rao Maldev lost their battle against them. Rao Maldev died on 1562 and Chandra Sen or Mota Raja Uday Singh handed over her sister, Rukmawati bai to Akbar. Rukmati bai was 2nd last child of Rao Maldev. Hence Akbar got married to Phool’s aunt on 1581 ( Date not confirmed by Historians). Rukmawati bai was the 6th or 7th wife of Akbar. ( Assumption)
