There is one mistake in the L/C which causes a problem with the EUR1 certificate:
:47A:
1)ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE DATED,ISSUED IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND BEAR
OUR L/C NUMBER EXCEPT FOR PREPRINTED FORMS AND STAMPS IN EUR 1
CERTIFICATE .
This should have been AND instead of IN.
The problem is that the EUR1 certificate contains a description in Dutch as well (this is obliged), and the bank cannot accept this document.
We cannot wait for another amendment anymore.
Is it possible to send me a declaration on your letterhead (signed and stamped) in which you confirm that
1) you will accept the EUR1 certificate as it is
2) and that you will make the payment within 1 week after delivery of documents at your bank?
As soon as we have received your declaration, we can send all document finally to your bank.
This situation shows again that one wrong word in an L/C can cause huge problems.
