Usage :
This system is used for buses with pneumatic suspension .
Construction :
This brake system has 5 equipment groups. The energy supply (group A) generates
compressed air at low pressure (8 bar), stores it and delivers it to the service brake
system (group B), to the parking-brake system (group C), to the pneumatic suspension
(group E) ,and to the door control (group F).
There are the following differences from brake system 4 :
• Low-pressure operation .
• With antifreeze pump.
• Pneumatic controlled brake cylinders (diaphragm type) on the front axle and combination brake
cylinders (with diaphragm type) on the rear axle (for the service-brake and parking-brake sys.)
• Pneumatic force transmission in the service-brake system.
• Relay valves for the quick response of the combination brake cylinders on the rear cylinder (for
the service-brake and parking-brake sys.) .
• Shuttle valve for dual-circuit control of the combination brake cylinder so that the spring-back
cylinders can be released even if the parking-brake circuit has failed
