It was a sunny day in June
But the warm breeze
Carried heavy news
The smell of fresh cut grass
and the sound of seagulls in the air
Twisted by my fears
They became vultures in the sky
Circling a scent of death
Left out in the warmth
I dried and aged quickly
Resembling the soil seed
I’d become
My imperfections
My inadequacies
Could be smelled a mile away
I gave off my inner thoughts
Like a perfume pouring from my pulse
Now my terror can be seen by all
For that was the day that they gave me the news
I have a battle ahead
And behind a smile
I heard the man in the white coat say
I’ll lose
I’ll lose
I’ll lose
And I don’t wanna go where the sun don’t shine
I said, I don’t wanna fall before my time, I got
Too many places I’ve never been, I got
Too many faces I’ve never seen
I said, I don’t wanna go where the sun don’t shine
I’m too young, too young, too young
I’m too young to die
I’m too young to die
It is a deadly game of time
Yet all I see are waiting rooms
The hope of fresh got changed
With eyes old and frail
With every breath
