My first taste of a European Country
I believe I am so lucky to have my internship in summer in the beautiful stylish City of Dusseldorf, where I could see the nice weather reflected in the people’s free smiles and warm greetings every day. The joy they are experiencing with the sunlight is beckoning me to be part of it, though in my city, Hodeidah, the weather is all about hot, hotter and hottest.
At the beginning of my stay I got lost in the streets a number of times but always found my way home. There I developed a great trust in the public transportation which is al- ways on time and really organized. Moreover, what amazed me is how traffic lights are much respected here and how streets are nicely stoned pitched. It adds to my passion of walking and observing people rush to catch a tram in the early morning or share beer after a hectic working day. Furthermore, the green plants and gorgeous flowers pots, decorating the buildings windows, houses balconies and even store facades make this place look like a small heaven.
During my first month here, I have attended some important and interesting work- shops/meetings and visited nice places. I started in Bonn with the amazing “Global Media Forum” where (in person) I could meet and listen to the great Noam Chomsky telling us how citizens can revive democracy and how this process is challenging the media. There I also participated in a workshop on “Digital Storytelling”. It was very in- spiring and I got to write and create a digital story myself which I presented to my col- leagues at work along with a longer presentation about my country. My colleagues
