I am Simon, father of a 7yo boy and 5yo girl. We live in a nice house in Willoughby with a minature poodle and a large backyard. Our last fantastic Au Pair has just finished and want to welcome a new Au Pair to our home to take on the role as big sister for my two children.
The house is close to shops and transport and only 15 minutes from the city.
Your responsibilities will be Monday to Friday 7am to 9:15am then 2:45pm to 6:30 pm. This will include getting the kids ready and taking them to school in the morning, afternoon school pick up, homework, play dates, errands etc. The kids are in the local school, which is 5 minutes drive away. Light housework including washing and folding clothes, picking up after the kids and meal preparation (I have a cleaner who cleans the bathrooms/toilet etc). It is important that you are responsible, neat and have a clean driver’s license with good experience, we really need someone who is a safe and confident driver! Some of your responsibilities will be shared with my ex-wife who lives close by. The position is full time approximately 35 hours a week.
I will have to work late or be out some weeknights so on those occasions you will need to put the kids to bed, I can usually plan these nights several days in advance. Meals and household costs are provided and I will pay $300 p/w pocket money.
You will have the weekends to yourself however I may occasionally ask you to help out on weekends and I would pay extra for this.
I would prefer soemone who is older/not a teenager and previous experience working with children is essential. My kids are kind and well mannered and loving and had a great relationship with my last Au Pair, who was also teaching them Spanish.
You will have your own large bedroom with a built in wardrobe and share a large bathroom with the kids. Your bedroom is one of four upstairs. The house has wifi and foxtel. When we have family outings, park, beach, dinner etc. you are very welcome to join us.
I am interviewing now and am looking for someone to start ASAP. We look forward to meeting you and becoming one of the family while you are here.
